FAQ Operation of women-only cars

Do you operate women-only cars?

Starting on May 9^th 2005, considering current societal norms, we introduced this from the perspective of "responding to customers' needs". It is being implemented on 6 trains during the weekday morning rush hour traveling in the direction of Tokyo, with trains departing from Uraga Station, Misakiguchi Station, and Limited Express trains departing from Keikyu Kurihama Station bound for Kanazawa Bunko Station (Rapid Express train bound for Shinagawa Station from Kanazawa Bunko Station).

For each train, we have made the first train car at the front of the train in the direction it is traveling (i.e. the part of the train closest to Shinagawa) into women-only cars. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

* The women-only cars can also be used by individual male passengers of elementary school age and below, individual male passengers with physical disabilities and their accompanying caregivers even if they are male.
